The origins of Fenchurch can be traced to Acton in London and at the time were based around the skating culture, the brand is now a significant part of the urban and street fashion scene.
The brand was founded in 1987 by a group of skaters and the name is taken from the Fenchurch Street railway station in The City of London where they used to skate. Before its mainstream launch in 2001 the brand had a large underground following, a year after its mainstream launch the brand had become one of the leading boutiques in London and was expanding into continental Europe.
Fenchurch’s offices were infamously destroyed in a fire in 2003 and this put pressure on the company as many designs and samples were destroyed, the company bounced back due to its loyal support and following and in 2005 a store was opened on Earlham Street in Covent Garden.
Nowadays Fenchurch produces mainly male and female urban and street fashions and accessories, shoes and even luggage. Fenchurch clothes are renowned for their originality with a hint of style keeping true to the roots of street and skate. The recent venture into footwear has also seen major success for Fenchurch who have experimented into new avenues.
